Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge…….

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass,
his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy
kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Heaven gained a glorious angel with the passing of Diana Schipper. She had a heart the size of Texas for people and animals in need. She belonged to the Crazy AA Flight Attendant Cat Owners Group, who raised money for cats in need. She donated countless quilts, auction items, money, time and her love and compassion to the cats and kittens of Beare Garden Animal Rescue. Her husband David, has been a huge supporter and volunteers regularly at the adoption center at PetSmart Greenville, helping cats and kittens find loving homes. Beare Garden would like to thank the Schipper Family for their generosity to animals in need. Diana and Dave always gave freely and have been very involved with saving lives. The Rescue wishes to recognize Diana and her generosity and expresses condolences for the loss of such a beautiful soul who touched so many lives.

In loving memory of Shelby Jean Carroll (Davis) Apr 27, 1937 - May 7, 2019 It is with great sadness that the family of Shelby Jean Davis Carroll announces her passing on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the age of 82 years. Jean, a resident of Ormondsville, NC, previously of Rocky Mount, NC, was born April 27, 1937 to S.C. (Tom) and Bet Davis of Ormondsville, NC. She was the salutatorian of her 1955 Maury High School class and the “Best” Mom a child could have.
In later years, she was an employee of Greene County Schools and of Care-Works Inc., in Greenville, NC. In the 1970’s, many young girls of Rocky Mount will remember Jean as their Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader, as well as her friends from Rocky Mount, NC, will recall her skills at bridge. In her leisure, she loved baking pecan pies, socializing with friends and family, and always had a joyous smile and laughter that could light up a room. Her 2nd home in Emerald Isle was her favorite place to be and she enjoyed reading and soaking up the sun. She was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church and of Ormondsville Free Will Baptist. Jean was predeceased in death by her husband of 35 years, William Jennings Carroll, Jr. and daughter, Carrie Lynn Carroll. Surviving family members include her three children, Kathy C. Heath (Bobby) of Simpson, NC, Robbie J. Carroll (Ursula) of Palm Coast, FL, and lastly, Chris Carroll of Ormondsville, NC. Jean will also be fondly remembered by her six grandchildren, Charlotte Adams (Mike), Catherine, Thomas, Sarah, Ashley, and Hanna Carroll, and by her great-grandchildren, Annabel and Grace Adams.

Samson was 9 years old when we adopted him from Halifax Humane Society in Daytona Beach Florida in 2009. He had a ball in his cage so I rolled it to him and he fetched it. He had a kind face and gentle nature. I adopted him immediately. In 2010 he was diagnosed with bone cancer. It was suggested that we amputate his leg or he would only have 6 months to live.
Normally I would not put a senior dog through surgery but in this case I had no choice. It turned out being the best decision I’d ever made because he then lived 4 more years 'til the age of 14. We always called him the “best dog ever” because he truly was. He got along with everyone and everything. I was there with him in my arms when he took his last breath. That is when I promised my Sammy that I would continue saving animals in his honor. I started volunteering for the Daytona Beach German Shepherd Rescue where I foster, transport and donate. I’ve had 14 fosters so far. We have kept our promise and will continue. I love you my sweet boy! -Angela Kravantka

Max Alexander crossed over the rainbow bridge on 2/14/18. He was 17 years old. He was adopted from a shelter in Dec 2000 and he was the best cat I ever met. My children and I miss him every day but are thankful for the time we had with him. RIP sweet kitty, we love you still.... -Janice Pernell

 Missy Cat...one of the sweetest souls ever. When adopted, he was listed as a she. We didn't have to heart to change his name, so he remained "Missy Cat". He had to be held like a baby every evening. RIP in peace my dear friend. Missy crossed over June 2016. - David E.

Samantha or "Mammy" at the top with her brothers, was a gentle lady who loved a lap. Someone abandoned her in Wilson where she was rescued. She is remembered for her cute prissy twist. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge February 2015.

Mister Kitty brightened our lives for 21 years. He loved a lap and required an arm to sleep on. He loved everyone and knew no strangers. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge February 14, 2017.
